“The Story of My Life” is a new richly melodic Broadway musical, due to begin performances on February 3, 2009 and officially open on February 19 at the Booth Theater. The new Broadway musical tells the story of two childhood friends and how that friendship profoundly defines their lives. Thomas Weaver is a best-selling, award-winning author. Alvin Kelby was his best friend for 30 years, but time can test the bonds of friendship, and when it does, Thomas calls on the only resource he has his stories of Alvin to learn where things went wrong. “The Story of My Life” is a soaring tribute to the power of friendship and the people who change our lives forever.
The cast of the Broadway musical includes Will Chase (Rent, Aida, The Full Monty) and Malcolm Gets (Amour, Merrily We Roll Along, "Caroline in the City"); is directed by Richard Maltby Jr. (Ain't Misbehavin', Song & Dance); lyrics and music by: Neil Bartram; and book by: Brian Hill.
