The classic Rogers & Hart Broadway musical, Pal Joey, is about a small and scheming Chicago entertainer who sweet-talks his way into running a nightclub of his own. In the process Pal Joey pursues and uses a “society dame” and a “mouse” from the chorus. The question remains, ”Will the women in his life continue to aid and abet his plans?” The score includes such famous compositions as, “Bewitched,” I could write a Book” and a couple of nightclub specialties.
Pal Joey begins performances on November 14 at Studio 53, 254 West 54th Street and has its official opening on December 11, 2008. It will close February 15, 2009. The performances are Tuesday though Saturday at 8pm and on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. The tickets range in price from $36.50 to $121.50.
