The classic Rogers & Hart Broadway musical, Pal Joey, is about a small and scheming Chicago entertainer who sweet-talks his way into running a nightclub of his own. In the process Pal Joey pursues and uses  a “society dame” and a “mouse” from the chorus. The question remains, ”Will the women in his life continue to aid and abet his plans?” The score includes such famous compositions as, “Bewitched,” I could write a Book” and a couple of nightclub specialties.

Pal Joey begins performances on November 14 at Studio 53, 254 West 54th Street and has its official opening on December 11, 2008.  It will close February 15, 2009. The performances are Tuesday though Saturday at 8pm and on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. The tickets range in price from $36.50 to $121.50. The cast of the Broadway musical includes: Stockard Channing, Christian Hoff, Martha Plimpton, Robert Clohessy, Jenny Fellner, Daniel Marcus and others.

The musical is directed by Joe Mantello; choreographed by Graciela Daniele; set design by Scott Pask and musical direction by Paul Gemignani.

The classic Broadway musical lyrics are by Lorenz Hart, music by Richard Rogers.  The book is by Richard Greenberg, based on the original by John O’Hara.
