Online auction service eBay has opened a new store entitled the StubHub, right next to the Broadway theater district. Aside from Broadway tickets, StubHub also deals in tickets for sporting events and concerts. The StubHub storefront looks like a rental car office and it mostly deals in Broadway tickets and other tickets that have been purchased online. In addition to giving customers the opportunity to buy tickets at less than face value, it is also gives people the chance to sell tickets that they don't want or can't use, so nothing goes to waste. The StubHub store could substantially change the way that Broadway tickets are sold by giving ticket brokers a place to dump tickets at the last minute, which could be a real boon to budget-conscious theater-goers, or tourists on limited schedules who want to catch a Broadway show like Mamma Mia, or Les Miserables, but only have a few days in which to track down tickets.
